Fancello Giovanni

Journalist, author, gastronome, and prefect for Sardinia for the Italian Academy of Historical Gastronomy (AIGS). He writes for “Taccuini Storici”. He was an inspector for the national restaurant guide of L’Espresso and a contributor to the newspaper La Nuova Sardegna. He curates the column “Appunti di Cucina” for the radio show Fizz Show and is the author of the international blog “FoodClub”.

He has published: “Sabores de Mejlogu”, “Sardegna a tavola”, “Pasta. History and Adventures of a Food between Sardinia and the Mediterranean”, “Le sagre della Sardegna tra il sacro ed il profano”.

He contributed to the anthologies: “Back to Sardinia. In the Footsteps of D.H. Lawrence”, “A Hundred Years Ago Lawrence Arrived”, and “130 Years of La Nuova Sardegna”. He collaborated on: “Il pesce povero. Ricchezza in cucina”, “Le spezie. Colori e sapori in cucina”, “Erbe selvatiche”, “Sa Mandra. Lamb and Traditional Recipes”, “Pani tipici della tradizione algherese”, “Mandigos de connotu. Traditional Foods”.

For Arkadia, he published: “Durches”, “Grazia Deledda and Food”, and contributed to the anthology “Giants of Stone”.
