Capuozzo Toni
He began his journalism career in 1979 with the newspaper “Lotta Continua”. He collaborated with the magazines “Epoca” and “Panorama Mese”, as well as the daily newspaper “Reporter”. In 1983, he was awarded the “Premio Salone del mare di Viareggio”.
He later moved into television: for Giovanni Minoli’s program “Mixer”, he covered the mafia. As a correspondent for the news programs of the Mediaset Group, Toni Capuozzo became an expert on international conflicts, reporting on wars in the former Yugoslavia, Somalia, the Middle East, and Afghanistan.
Starting in 2001, Capuozzo became the editor and host of “Terra!”, a weekly in-depth program for “Tg5”, where he also served as deputy director. As a freelancer, Toni Capuozzo continues to collaborate with Mediaset; for “Tgcom24”, he curates a column titled “Mezzi Toni”.
In 2014, he received the “Premio Strillaerischia” in Lipari and the “Premio Paolo Diacono” in Cividale. He was a guest at the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2019 with his book “La culla del terrore. L’odio in nome di Allah diventa Stato” (Signs Publishing) and in 2024 with his book “Cos’è la guerra? I conflitti spiegati ai ragazzi” (Signs Publishing 2024).
