Porru Matteo
Born in Rome in February 2001, he began his writing career at the age of sixteen, discovered by Maurizio Costanzo, after publishing several short stories in digital format.
His journey into writing was sparked by an experience of illness that arose during his childhood.
In 2019, in his final year at the G.M. Dettori High School in Cagliari, he won the “Young” section of the Premio Campiello with the short story “Talismani”. In the same year, with “Madre ombra”, he won the Premio Zingarelli and was a finalist for the Premio Cambosu and the Premio Alziator.
With “Il dolore crea l’inverno”, his first work for the Garzanti publisher, he became a finalist for the Premio Fiesole and won the Premio Libri a 180 gradi. The novel, published in France by Buchet Chastel, earned him the Grand Prix du Livre FIFAD.
In 2024, Porru joined the jury for the Premio Solinas and wrote the play “Cobalto” for the Teatro Stabile del Veneto.
A graduate in Philosophy, International and Economic Studies from the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice, he is a publicist journalist and editorialist for the newspapers of the SAE group.
He is the director of the Festival dell’Altrove, dedicated to the memory of the writer Giulio Angioni.
